Make up Artist Schools
Coming to visit Cosmix is an adventure! Make up Artist schools have an array of different subjects from Beauty to SFX Makeup. In one part of the school students are doing spa treatments to mystical new age music and the scents of the aromatherapy products are intoxicating. Across the school, aliens, super heroes, and scary creatures are coming to life in our SFX Makeup school classroom.
Classrooms
Classrooms provide the setting for lectures, demos, and hands-on sessions. LCD screens & cameras installed in all classrooms broadcast close-ups during demonstrations & students’ finished camera-ready work. Students observe their work on the screen -essential in the development of their skills, as their final professional product will often appear on film and in print. In our make up classes, students watch the current fashion shows and study the designer 's collections in detail.Special FX Lab
The "Special FX Prosthetics Makeup" and "Creature Design" courses utilize the lab. Students focus on the design and creation of prosthetic & dental appliances. This process involves conceptualization, life casting, sculpting, and molding. Students work on an advanced three-dimensional sculpted character as their final creature design.Makeup Store
Cosmix's Store offers makeup, tools, airbrushing supplies and equipment, makeup cases, and special effects supplies from over 50 different manufacturers including Make Up For Ever, Eve Pearl, Cinema Secrets, Temptu, Dinair, Mehron, and Kryolan.
The Resource Center
The resource center has a bay of computers for students to access the web and do research, get creative ideas for projects, access social networks, and complete homework assignments. The resource library contains books, tapes and DVDs on subjects ranging from fashion styling to making monster heads.
Photo Studio
To obtain industry bookings, a makeup artist must present a professional portfolio. Students collaborate with photographers and models to produce an array of media looks. This ensures professional quality pictures. Students acquire set experience as they participate in numerous photo shoots.
